If the mother or father cat has any sealpoint or solid black (or even just black) it can be possible. Also if the mother is sealpoint and the father is all black (or the other way round) it can be possible.

It's all in the genes of fur!

My cat Pumpkin (from new YouTube show PScatlife)'s dad was a mixed breed, appearing with the fur of a tortie/calico and his mum was a pure Russian blue. His 1st sister (that I wanted to get) was pure Russian blue and his 2nd sister was tortie/calico too. Pumpkin in BLACK AND WHITE!

So there must be some black&white genes from his dads side for that.
