I personally know of one that is a medium -long mix dapple miniature that wont get out of the pool. My grand children have to lock it out of the pool area. This little dog has been in the pool for more than two hours at a time and when it gets ready, it heads for the stairs and bolts out to play in the yard and then right back. I belive that any dog can swim, and that the extent of the swimming depends on how the dog is introduced to playing in the water.
