Can chihuahuas be service dogs

Yes. My fiance has a Chihuahua that he has had since she was 2 days old and she is his Seizure Service dog. Somehow she senses when he is about to have a seizure and will bark loudly just before the onset to alert him and others that he needs to sit or lie down.

Chihuahuas, like any other breed, can make a fine service dog. There are lots of tasks that a chihuahua can do such as alert work, psychiatric work, hearing assistance work manipulating objects and even simple physical tasks that are appropriate for its size.
