No. Never give a dog cooked bones. Cooked bones are brittle and splinter easily. Raw bones are much softer and safer for a dog to chew, but make sure they eat it slowly so they don't choke. You can hold one end of the bone to ensure your dog doesn't try and swallow it whole.

The above, in my 30+ years experience, is true as far as it goes. Besides the initial purchase expense (pretty hefty even for trainers) I'll spend 1500 - 2000 hours training one of my working dogs. I would NEVER feed/share bones, cooked or otherwise (although they're fond of the last couple of bites of chicken and noodles or spaghetti which is fine).

Sooner or later the dog is going to choke on a bone and you have to extract it then or you may loose your pet. We've an excellent trainer who lost a finger extracting a chicken bone from his (working K9) dog. Stick with the bone-shaped rawhide chews -- buy 'em in bulk and they're much less expensive.

Chicken, pork, turkey, deer -- pick something -- bones splinter easily. You have to have the expertise and sometimes instruments to remove the obstruction. If not, you can easily loose your dog. So, NO! don't throw the dog a bone. It's conservative, but it's safe.
