Not a good idea. Their native habitat is a warm climate in South America.

Not strictly true, yes they come from South America but they live in the Andean Highlands where the air is thin and temperatures can be extremely cold, they do not live in the rainforest. Heat is more of a problem for a Guinea Pig than cold.

Guinea Pigs can be kept outside all year as long as they have plenty of hay etc, they deal very well with cold.
