The seeds of some fruits are toxic to mammals...that includes people and animals. Also, if the horse has access to fruit that has fallen on the ground and eats too much, the horse could develop colic, which is potentially fatal in horses. Yes, it can. My horses LOVE pears, but my vet told me to give them seedless slices of pear. The seeds are hard for them to digest, and also to be on the safe side that they didn't choke. So the answre is yes, horses can eat pear, but you need to take the right precautions. I hope I helped you! =]
