If you give a monkey a lighter then, yes. However, if you are talking about a natural fire I think there would only be a 2% chance.
Formation of the thumb has been instrumental in the evolution of man, which finger can be held against the other four fingers, facilitating a firm grip on things. The emergence of this thumb and it's positioning against the other fingers in the opposite direction helped man in making fires and forging weapons which in it's turn were used to make more and new weapons, initiating civilization. Monkeys do not have a thumb, so they cannot make a fire. If monkeys had thumbs they would not only have made fires but sitting on trees and making sticks out of twigs, they would certainly have beaten men walking under also.

Monkeys show affection to other monkeys by grooming them or even massaging them. Yes, you read that correctly, some monkeys do massage other monkeys. And they love it. They will also do this to try and make peace with another monkey.
i think that the fire represents that the monkeys paw should not live and if it does someone else who uses the paw will die
