They can swim safely in controlled environments, and I HIGHLY recommend using a life jacket for them....mine hates it, but he deals.

All dogs can swim, though some breeds prefer the water more than others. Most Westies are fairly neutral towards the water, but can swim if they want or need to.

Mine never like too, but could if she needed too! Like all dogs, im sure they can all swim, it just depends on whether they like too or not. A personal preference you may say!

Yes, although both of the westies I have had did not like swimming.
