That is not true at all. You can handle the pups right away. Some new mothers need help with the birthing process and they are comforted when you are there. I would see how she reacts first to them being handled by moving slowly and letting her smell and lick them as you handle them. Puppies need socializing with people as well as with each other. There are many reasons why you would have to handle them especially if the mother is not nursing or develops an underlying condition. So handle away! Just be careful moving them from her nesting box because this could make her nervous. Good luck!
Answer
It depends on the need of the pups, the bred (small breedsare more fragile than larger) also the trust of the mother. Socializingwith humans begins in day one with smell. I encourage my daughters to always check the litter and see if mom needs help of a puppy has wandered off. Just be very gentle and start playing with them at 4weeks on. this is a crucial period of human play and trust.
Take it to the vet and get her checked out
Puppies sleep a lot because they play a lot and it tires them out.
well, puppies can "do" a lot of things. like sleep, play with toys, eat, go to he bathroom. that is generaly what puppies do.
er no?
Cause they are a mammal
Yes I like them a lot. =P
no it is not it is perfectly normail
For the most part, no - newborn puppies mostly sleep and and nurse for the first two weeks.
You can't; without a radiograph of the late-term abdomen, you have no way of counting how many puppies are present. Actually, even veterinarians are only good for a guess-timate and a minimum number of puppies - it is very difficult to visualize all the puppies on a single radiograph, particularly when there are a lot of them.
It is specil. Lot dogs will hve diff. number of bbies!
there is a lot of stuff you have to do like feeding, cleaning, playing, taking them to the vet, and a lot more.
Yes it is normal for puppies to be play rough. Puppies have a lot of energy and they burn off that energy by playing. They don't mean to be rough, they're just having fun.
