There is no set age limit. Your ability to handle a guinea pig, as with anything else you do in this world, has nothing to do with your age but rather your maturity level and your individual aptitude.

It does not matter how old the guinea pig is but usually after you purchase a guinea pig it is recommended that you let the guinea pig settle in to it new home.

you have to leave them a couple of days before you try and pick them up, other wise the mother will gat very agitated and may reject the babys if they smell different.

It really depends on the age of the guinea pig... Guinea pigs need to stay with their mothers for at least a month. So if you are talking about a guinea pig a month or older, I know a couple of things. If they are not potty trained and you want to hold them, put them in a towel, but don't cover their face. (They need to breath.) If they are potty trained, hold them in your lap or in your arms, always supporting their bottom. (Guinea pigs have fragile backbones that are curved, and if you straighten the backbones, you could seriously harm the guinea pig.) Pet them on their backs going in very soft strokes along their hair. (Don't go against the grain of their fur, because this disturbs them greatly.) Don't make any crazy movements or speak loudly, because their hearing is twice as good as ours. Put them back into their cage gently after a couple of minutes (Hold your guinea pig daily for 10-25 minutes each time.) You may want a soft haired brush, but remember to pet them softly always. Good luck with your new furry friend!(Other advice: Change their food bowls multiple times a day, change their cages once every 5-7 days depending on the stench.)

Unlikely. In any situation if the parent smells your scent they will likely reject or eat the babies. If you need to move them, make sure you have on a latex or rubber glove and move the mother with the babies.
