a bath might help but if he has a scratch- you may not be able to see it it will cause him pain and distress Guinea pigs are prone to scurvy. They need their diets supplemented with Vitamin C. Although commercial food contains it, the vitamins added are not always fresh or enough. I brought my pig to the vet when he had a bad skin rash and even the vet was not aware of this and referred me to a veterinary dermatologist. Luckily, I did some research before I made the appointment and saved myself a LOT of money by simply giving my pigs a slice of orange once or twice a week. The rash disappeared almost immediately. If your pig is scratching a lot, this may be the problem. If not, it's still a healthy treat that they LOVE and they really do need the extra vitamin C. Good luck!
I would not recommend rubbing lotion on your guinea pigs feet. If they are swollen I would take the guinea pig to the vet due to the possibility that it can be an infection on your guinea pigs feet.
Yes, you can.
you shoudl not put a hamster and a guinea pig in the same cage no matter what.
you should never put a guinea pig with a chinchilla
you could put another guinea pig or they would probably get alond with hamsters or bunnies
it really depends on the guinea pig, some get along fine with friends some don't
it means that YOUR guinea PIG LOVES YOU
an animal may die if you do that. probably the guinea pig. :(
No, guinea pigs should not be put in a guinea pig ball because they have delicate spines that can be injured by the rolling motion. It is better to provide a safe and spacious enclosure for your guinea pig to explore and play in.
When I got my guinea pig, we didn't know she was pregnant, so about a month later, my sister got one that wasn't pregnant. It was a little less that a month after that that my guinea pig had 2 babies. During that time, though, Molly, the pregnant guinea pig, was acting very territorial, and Milly, the non pregnant guinea pig, was staying by herself and not having anything to do with Molly. So make sure that if you put a pregnant guinea pig with a non pregnant guinea pig, that the non pregnant guinea pig is a girl, or else there WILL be trouble.
not necessarily; if you leave one guinea pig in the cage with the sick guinea pig, the guinea pig that is not sick can get sick; you should separate them just to be safe but if the guinea pigs start to get lonely, put them back together
put him back in his cage.
