Cardigan Welsh Corgis have a medium-length double coat that typically measures around 1 to 2 inches in length. The outer coat is dense and water-resistant, while the undercoat is softer and provides insulation. Their fur may vary slightly in length depending on individual genetics and grooming practices. Regular brushing is recommended to manage shedding and keep their coat healthy.
Pembroke Welsh Corgis shed ALOT, in fact they shed more than most breeds them and their cousins the Cardigan Welsh Corgi. The Pembrokes and Cardigans shed mostly in the winter and should be brushed often in the warmer times to keep them from over heating. It is important to not brush them as much in the winter, for its as cold to them as it is to you. They have the most hair around their butt. The "Butt Fur" can be shaved off as needed, I would recomend shaving it twice a year, or as needed for it can get caked with feces and is a mess to clean up. Other than the hair, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a mighty fine breed of dog and are great companions!
