Many bats eat insects (up to twice their body weight in one night!), if you consider that meat. However vampire bats do drink blood. They use their small, sharp fangs to scrape at the skin of an animal. They use heat sensors on their noses to find an area on the animal's body that there is a lot of blood in. The scraping of the skin allows blood to flow to the area, and the bat lick this blood up fast. Vampire bat saliva contains an anti-coagulant, which prevents the blood from clotting. These bats drink the blood for sometimes 20 minutes, and end up drinking about 2 tablespoons in one sitting!
