The belief that cats have nine lives is a common myth and not based in reality. Cats are resilient animals, but they only have one life just like any other living creature. The origin of this myth is unclear, but it likely stems from their agility, ability to survive falls from high places, and their reputation for escaping dangerous situations relatively unscathed.

9 lives...
As far as we know, we all only have one life. The saying of cats having nine lives is only a saying, based on how the agility and flexibility of cats allowing them to survive high falls and other dangerous situations which would have injured or killed heavier and clumsier beings.
Easy. 9 cats. Umm.... 24 I would say?
There aren't any animals that have 4 lives although there is an idiom that says, "Cats have 9 lives." This idiom means that cats have 9 lives because every time they live, most of them die because they are so curious that they enter places where they can die, so the idiom basically means if you give a cat 9 chances of life it will never realize that it has died repeatedly and therefore will never stop being curious. So again, there is no such thing for animals to have 4 or multiple lives.
