Do cats make good pets

It all depends on your lifestyle, personality and what roll you want a pet to play in your life. It also depends on the pet. Some dogs are very laid back by nature and some cats are high energy.

A pet is just like having a child. If you are a working individual that won't have the time to care for your pet, then a cat would be better than a dog. Most cats are inclined to be indoors, where as a dog can develop separation anxiety if left alone for long periods of time without mental and physical stimulation. Dogs need to be taken out for walks at least twice a day in order to stay happy and healthy. Cats, on the other hand, are usually more laid back and as long as you have a sofa or window sill they are pretty much content.

Are you prepared to walk and play with a dog before work and after coming home? Will you mind having to make a litter box is kept clean?

In a nutshell:

• Dogs will make better pets if you want a pet that you can take for walks and go places with and play with.

• Cats are good pets if you want a pet that is easier to care for, and likes to settle on your lap and sleep.

So overall I would say cats are better for the more relaxed, laid back people and dogs are more for the fun, outdoorsy never-out-of-energy people. No animal is really a better pet for all people, but a better type for you individually.

yes cats make good pets because you dont have to look after them as much as a dog e.g you dont have to take them on walks in all weathers. They are also good pets because they are usually very friendly and enjoy to be played with or cuddled.

Cats can be very excellent pets. They may seem lazy and also hard work, but it is easy to take care of one. With my cat she doesn't need to much attention (unless she is hungry LOL).

Cats can serve a variety of roles besides being very cute. They can act as pest control, getting mice, rats, bugs, and other pests that you don't want in your home. They can also be very therapeutic, and provide nice company.

Something like ten cats is not easy or recommended but one or two can be a very nice presence in a home.

They can be. It depends on the personalities of the cat and the owner. For example, I have 2 cats, both rescues. The older one is about 4 years old, is as mellow as can be, and loves attention. The 2 year old is a scamp. She runs for no apparent reason, and is not inclined to physical touch, unless she is sleepy. Then she will curl up with, and sometimes on top of, you and fall peacefully asleep.

Long story short, it depends. Most cats are somewhat self sufficient. They require daily food and water, and most like some kind of physical stimulation. That's why we have two. They take care of that for themselves mostly, but we do play with them as well.

Cats, dogs, and fish are very popular pets. But which one is the best? First, let's think about fish. Fish are pretty good pets. You don’t need to dig up their waste, take them on walks or things like that. But you do need to clean their tanks, refill their water, and feed them. If you like fish, you may argue that you need to do that with all pets, and also things you don’t need with fish.

That’s the problem with fish. If you don’t need to take care of them so much,  it can’t do much. If you love your fish so much, you might as well create a portable robot tank so your fish can cuddle with you in bed. But no one wants shattered glass, water, pebbles, and a slimy fish on your bed in the middle of the night.

Now, we’ll talk about dogs. For dogs, they take up a lot of time. You have to take them on walks, train them to go #1/#2 outside, ect. You have to feed them daily, unlike fish. Not only that, they can distract you from doing homework, resulting in bad grades. At night, they can cuddle with you, but sometimes they bark, and could keep you up all night. So that’s why you shouldn’t get a dog.

Lastly, I’ll tell you why cats are the best pets. Cats can discard waste in the litter box, which you don’t have to clean every time they use the bathroom. You don’t have to worry about taking them on walks, either. Cats are independent animals, so they won’t bother you from doing work. They don’t cuddle with you all night, but when they get used to you, they will let you carry them.

Cats may not want to stick with you all the time, but they are in between dogs and fish. Dogs are too much work, fish are so little you hardly care about them. That’s why cats are the best pets.
