Yes. They shed A LOT if they are short haired, if they are long haired, they shed very little.
easy they rarely shed hair and the less hair the less you sneeze
The Short (Smooth) haired Chihuahua would shed less fur, the long haired would need more grooming suggesting that the long haired would shed more (there's more hair)
Chihuahua's only shed when seasons change like normal dogs and they don shed that much and the only other time they will shed if the dog is pregnant just like how we humans lose hair when where are pregnant and they shed allot then =D in fact my Chihuahua just gave birth to 3 live pups today
Chihuahua's do shed moderately. If you have allergies to dogs then there is a good chance that having a chihuahua will bother you.
Chihuahua Short Hair
No if the hair is tight it will not shed
All dogs have hair, but if you mean LONG hair, only if the chihuahua was the long haired breed.
I just read up on this (since I'm considering getting a Chihuahua from the shelter)...they are "moderate shedders". The one I saw at the shelter (short hair, brownish orange color) was shedding excessively - a clump per stroke pretty much - but its coat still looked full. I'm hoping that its due to the time of year, cheap food, or stress and that if I adopt it, the shedding will become a lot lighter. My nose got really stuffy/congested at the end of the visit, so maybe I was allergic. A different (playful, less afraid) Chihuahua (black short hair) at another shelter didnt shed 1 hair I think, during our 20 minute play room visit. ~Shevi Yes chi's shed, all chi's shed some. Chi's do shed more at certain times of the year, but overall it really isn't bad. I usually sweep my hardwood floors once a day and that keeps the shedded hair under control.
Chihuahua
Yes, the collie will shed. It will shed a fair mount of hair. If you have one you might even find it in your own hair!
Shih tzus do NOT shed.
