No they don't. They can have ears that hang down or that point up. They can also have short pointy ears or short hanging down ears.

Harlequin Great danes have a white coat with black spots or patches scattered throughout. Merle Great Danes have a grey coat with black spots or patches. Harlequin Danes are recongnized by the AKC and are allowed to be showed. Merles on the other hand are not a recognized color and unfortunatly up until recently were killed at birth because they were undisireable.
