NO. Hedgehogs are insectivores and will not kill a chicken under any circumstances. Chickens usually roost off the ground so to start with, a hedgehog could not reach the roosting chicken when it is at it most vulnerable even if it wanted to. Hedgehogs are also much smaller than a chicken and far slower than any bird of any species, no, your chickens have nothing to worry about when there are hedgehogs about.
Actually, depending on the ecosystem and the abundance of food hedgehogs in the wild do indeed adapt to eat groudnesting bird eggs and their vulnerable young. If a chicken coop is placed in a biome where the hedgehogs traditional foodsources are depleted your chicks in the coop could very well be wiped out in one encounter. One would suggest a secure hedgehog barrier to protect the young at night when they are confined and most vulnerable.
beacuse they like them
No. Hedgehogs are insectivores/omnivores, but not once in my 6+ years of ownership have I seen them eat grass. They eat insects, berries, some meat, eggs, etc. However, pet hedgehogs will and often do chew on and annoint with grass.
Hedgehogs can safely eat eggs as part of their diet, but they should be cooked and given in moderation to avoid any potential health issues.
No! Female hedgehogs give birth to their young.
Baby hedgehogs eat cat food and water
Hedgehogs eat a variety of things, mainly insects, but will eat earth worms, slugs, snails, frogs and birds eggs. They don't hunt for voles but will eat carrion, so would be opportunistic if they came across a dead one.
There are no hedgehogs in Free Realms...
Hedgehogs eat them.
Hedgehogs, if you leave out the following, will eat minced meat, tinned dog or cat food (not fish-based). They will also eat crushed cat biscuits, or chopped boiled eggs. Don't feed them milk. In the wild hedgehogs will eat worms and slugs.
First off, the hedgehog is a male so naturally they do not have any eggs inside of their body. Females have the eggs, not males. Secondly, hedgehogs are mammals and since the only two mammals on the planet which the female of the species can lay eggs are the platypus and the echidna, both of which happen to be from Australia.
