If by malt you mean shed than yes, huskies do shed, a lot. They originated in an artic climate so they had to have a very thick, warm, and functional coat. Their coat consists of a layer of down fur and a layer of guard hairs, both of which insulate the dog very well and play a major role in keeping the dog warm enough. The fact that they came from a very cold climate means that their coat is very thick. Consisquently, they have to shed at some point and when they do it can be quite hard to manage.
