Oh YES! They stink! When alarmed or distressed, the Mink lets out a foul smelling substance from it's anal glands. Believe me, once smelled, never forgotten!

Minks (Mustela Vison) are part of the Mustelid family (ferrets, polecats, weasels etc) - note the root of the word which looks like the English word musty .

Mink is Swedish and apparently means "stinking animal". A pretty good description in my experience.
