Yes, on rare occasions, the puma or as it is also called, mountain lion, panther, or catamount, does become a maneater.
A mountain lion tends to avoid confrontation but if you see one and run it will trigger its instinct to chase you. So yes but very rarely.
cougars usually don't 'eat' adults. cougars are able to eat kids and there have been several cases that they have been eaten! if you dont want to be attacked/eaten try to be as "big" as you can, like open your jacket and try to scare away the cougar or put a log/kid on your head so you seem to be tall.
No cugars dont eat humans the only thing cugars eat are small birds, moutain goats and other mountain animals
