Some animals have ( Such as BOBCATS) sometimes have short tails because of they have enemies that come to aproach them and that way the enemy can't bite its tail! And it also makes them look cute! But that is just my statement! i cant find any other reasons why~!

It's an adaption that helps in catching prey, no long tail to wag that may be a "red flag" to its location, and to be prey of larger carnivores. They mainly hunt rabbit and hares and, small rodents, and these animals have very good eyesight and are very quick, so it's easier to stalk and sneak up on them, so it seems. I believe it also has to do with their environment/climate, the shorter tail in very cold weather is not subject to frost bite (perhaps that's how they lost it many thousands of years ago)
