One of the most commonly described cancers in horses is malignant melanoma in gray horses - a proliferation of tumors under the tail and throughout the abdomen and chest that multiply rapidly and eventually cause death. Other cancers include carcinomas of various organs, sarcomas of the bone and connective tissue and round cell cancers like lymphoma and mast cell tumors.
