Sometimes it is better that they are on there own. When you have a girl and a boy rabbit, they will have babies. when you have two girls or two boys, they might either get along great or litteraly kill each other. So no, don't worry about him/her being lonely as long as you pet it and hold it and play with it at least every other day.

Can rabbits get depressed if they are the only rabbit in the house?

Rabbits are social animals and need daily interaction (playing, cuddling, grooming). They will get depressed, lonely, and bored if left alone. They don't need another rabbit necessarily: they can "bond" with you (their human companion). There are benefits to bonding them with another rabbit, but risks as well.Another Opinion: i dont think they will but if you dont spend time with them or they dont have anything to play with or do, they may get bored and start pulling fur out, but they would appreciate having a little friend of their kind, they have to be the same age or they will fight, you could have either another rabbit, or a guinea-pigPulling fur can be a sign of depression (self-mutilation); it can also be a sign of "false pregnancy."

What is the name of the material you get from rabbits?

If you are referring to the fur you get from rabbits, rabbit fur tends to be called Angora but Angora wool comes only from Angora rabbits. Otherwise, rabbit fur simply tends to be called rabbit fur.

Should you introduce a buck to a baby rabbit?

NO, male rabbits are territorial and may hurt the baby. I concure! I would recommend that you not only keep your baby rabbits away from all adult male rabbits (bucks), but also do not let the bucks be around you without a someone that is atleast a teenager and knowledgeful of rabbit behavior as they are prone to be territorial among each other and may fight it out. Buck rabbits will kill infant rabbits and I have seen this happen as I was a rabbit breeder. There was only one buck rabbit I know of that did not do this and he was our most well behaved rabbit and this was only under my (as the family rabbit breeder and the one that studied it the most) supervision.

How long can the rabbits be left alone if somebody just visits them everyday for food and water?

If it is a baby rabbit (under 4 years) you should keep it inside at all times. But if it is over 4 years only keep it inside if it is raining or snowing. Keeping it the garage is only good if it has a light AND a heater. House rabbit - If the rabbit has been in a house when it was born, this is called a house rabbit, if you get it from a friend or the pet shop they will tell you this. In ALL cases the rabbit should be kept inside. Make sure it has a suitable cage that the pet can run in and out from. Only let the rabbit out for runs in the garden. House rabbits need : water, grain, carrots, veg, sawdust and of course, a cage (not a hut) I don't think this (previous) answered your question. A 'BABY' rabbit is UNDER 6 months of age!!!! A rabbit meets sexual maturity at six months. A four year old rabbit is rapidly reaching 'old age'. Rabbits will do quite well if left alone with only daily visits for food and water and weekly visits to clean cages, IF there is more than one rabbit in your rabbitry. Each needs their own cage but they do need a neighbor for company. You won't be able to stay away however because they are so cute and interesting you will be wanting to visit, hold and watch them all the time. Also, on the house rabbit info, any rabbit you bring into your house (young preferably) can become a house rabbit. Rabbits are very territorial and will 'housebreak' themselves rather quickly. They need a cage for their potty an d to lock them in when no one is home, (This is for their protection) they need water, pellets, an occasional treat such as carrot, dry bread or cheerios and a cage with potty that either has sand or sawdust. (do not use kitty litter, some rabbits will eat it and some kitty litters can be toxic.)
