When hamsters hibernate, their bodily functions, including movement, significantly slow down. During this state, their whiskers may not exhibit noticeable movement, as they are in a deep, energy-conserving sleep. However, if they are disturbed, their whiskers might twitch or move slightly as part of their reflexive responses. Overall, while hibernating, their whiskers remain relatively still.
answer me why wont my hamster move
Punch it :D
Does it ever wake up?? But its still breathing??if it is but it is not waking up then it could be hibernating Where do you place your hamster's cage?? it it is too cold?? then they are hibernating..
Hamsters only hibernate in the wild.
hamsters don't hibernate!!!!!!
It's probably pseudo-hibernating, it's completely normal.
he will probably be hibernating so just leave him
I don't think food is the matter of them hibernating. You should just feed them regular hamster food. Make sure they are warm and not on water or swimming. You can try to hold him to make your hamster to feel warm.
It's probably not dead. It is maybe sleeping for awhile. I mean hamsters have to sleep to you know.
if a hamster is hibernating(this counts for all hamsterss not just dwarfs), it will stay in its bed for ages and wont wanna come out. gently hold it in your hands and see if you can encourage it to start being active! (i just made this up but it is proberly right!)
It is usually dead. But it could be hibernating, sleeping, or comatose.
Don't worry if you think your hamster is dead, many have confused death with hibernation. You can tell if the hamster is hibernating when: 1. Its body temperature had dropped (Its cold) 2. Its rigid and stiff looking 3. Very slightly the whiskers on the hamster will move. The hamster will still have to breathe in its hibernation state. This happens because the hamster goes through a winter numbness. Hamsters like temperatures around 65 F - 72 F (18-22 C). So don't let the temperature in your house drop 15F (13C). To wake the hamster from its hibernation try turning the heat up to a little warmer. Then pick the hamster up gently and thaw him/her out with your hands. To prevent hibernation try putting more wood shavings, so the hamster can borrow deep and stay warmer. Hamsters a very senseitive to the light so make sure when putting your hamster in a cage put it away from drafts and sunlight. (They also do not like loud noises). To thaw it out try stroking it gentley with your hand. Normally hamsters should not hibernate. They hibernate for four/five months.
