They transport orcas (Shamu is a stage name, the original Shamu is dead).
There are several Sea World's so there would be several different Shamu's which mean several different tanks. You'll have to specify which one.
Shamu the Original whale died after living in captivity for 6 years of an infection in the blood. There have been 51 shamu's* since the original died. *Shamus meaning orcas. They all got the stage name Shamu during shows.
He is one of them. Shamu is a stage name for all the orcas during shows.
There has only been one Shamu. She passed away at SeaWorld San Diego in 1971. "Shamu" is now a stage name used by all of SeaWorld's Orca's, they all have their own individual names, however.
Shamu is just the stage name. The original Shamu died I think in the 80's it was. Tilikum is the one who killed the trainer. But his stage name is Shamu. No - Shamu (She - Name) was captured to be a companion for Namu. She didn't get along with him and was purchased by Seaworld San Diego for $75,000. The park had just opened a year before so Shamu was immediately trained to participate in the show. In August 1971, she died from Septicemia and Pyometra at the very young age of 9. She was so popular at SeaWorld, her name carries on as the trade mark name for orcas at Sea World. In other words, they have been lying for years as to the real names of the orcas there. Even the males are called "Shamu". Now that people are starting to realize they are indeed individuals, they can't run from the lie they've told to public for decades. Tilikum, meanwhile, after the attack and unfortunate death of Dawn Brancheau, has been kept in utter isolation ever since February 24th, 2010. He was also captured from the wild. To read more about him, go to Seeing is Believing, Tilikum's lonely life after Dawn, on The Orca Project. Shamu killed the trainer and got let into the ocean for killing loads of other trainers too
Probably Shamu, the one they tried to release.
You cannot view this video on youtube due to real deaths being prohibited. You may be able to view this video but on an illegal site where the video will of been leaked. Tillikum was Shamu there isn't only one Shamu...
There was only one shamu. He died in the year of '71. Every SeaWorld claims to have a "Shamu" but that is just like a show name for their whales. Hope that answers your question!!
because of phoyosythesis which transfer genes to other plants this is one of the top answers in the world
"Friend of Namu". The first orca at SeaWorld was one named Namu. When he died, it was decided that from then on the orcas would be called "Shamu" in loving memory of Namu.
There has only been one Shamu in the SeaWorld history. The original Shamu died 7/9/71. Since then, there has been no new "Shamu." The three SeaWorld parks claim every whale there to be "Shamu" SeaWorld San Diego: Corky2 Kasatka Ulises Orkid Sumar Nakai Kalia SeaWorld Orlando: Katina Tillikum Kalina Kayla Taima Takara Trua Nalanie Malia SeaWorld San Antonio: Kyoquot Keet Unna Tuar Halyn Those are the names of all the orcas at the 3 SeaWorld parks :) I wish the original Shamu was still alive, but sadly she only survived 6 years in captivity. Corky 2 (my fav orca! lol!), located at SeaWorld San Diego, is the oldest orca in captivity alive. She is considered the "Shamu" to all three parks, because she acts like the original Shamu. "Shamu" is now just a stage name at the "Shamu" shows
The original Shamu at SeaWorld San Diego, named Namu, was the first killer whale to portray Shamu and passed away in 1971. The subsequent Shamus in SeaWorld San Antonio and SeaWorld Orlando were different whales.
