some dogs do know what your saying, sometimes
for example:
if you say their name a lot, they'll know their name
if you yell at then for something that is bad, they'll know it's bad and stop
some dogs know their owner's names
If you train it to know what that means, then yes. If you havn't, for me, that answer is unknown.

Anthropomorphism is the attributing of human characteristics to an animal. For example, saying that your dog "had fun at his birthday party and was so proud that it was his birthday." Dogs don't really know that it is their birthday, so saying this is anthropomorphizing the dog.
IT means to be yourself. Don't portray yourself as something you are not.
