Red pandas primarily find food in the dense bamboo forests of the Himalayas and surrounding regions. They have a specialized diet consisting mainly of bamboo, which they consume by using their strong, dexterous paws to grasp and strip leaves and shoots. In addition to bamboo, they may also eat fruits, acorns, insects, and small animals when bamboo is scarce. Their keen sense of smell and excellent climbing skills help them locate food in their arboreal habitat.
