Depends on the species you're talking about. Bison aren't true buffalo so only African, Wild and Domestic Water Buffalo will be covered here. Cape Buffalo range a weight from 880 to 2000 lb (400 to 904 kg), stand up to 5.6 feet and a length of 10 to 12 feet. Domestic Water Buffalo are slightly smaller they weigh 660 to 1870 lb (300 to 850 kg). Wild Water Buffalo are the largest of all 3 (but 3rd biggest of all cattle). They weigh around 2100 to 2600 lb (950 to 1200 kg).

That all depends on the species. Cape buffalo generally have bulls averaging around 2000 lbs and cows around 1000 lbs. Water buffalo are a little bigger, with bulls averaging around 2200 lbs and females over 1200 lbs. Guar, a type of indian buffalo, have bulls averaging around 2500 lbs, and cows over 1600 lbs. It's not uncommon for gaur bulls to weigh around 3000 lbs, and quite often cape and water buffalo may way the same, more or less as the other.
