How big can a horse go up to?

It depends on the nutrition, breed and the age.

The biggest breed is a Clydesdale and they can grow over 16 hands.

Thats not to say that other breeds cants reach that height but the average height is anywhere from 12- 15.

The record for the tallest horse in the world i believe is 19 hands but you may want to look into that.

-Hands meaning, using an average sized, human hand as a unit.

A pony is anything smaller than 14.2hh....

A large horse can be 72 inches tall at the withers or shoulder and weigh up to 2200 pounds.

It depends on a few things, the height of the parents of the horse but mostly on the breed. A quarter horse stands around 15 HH but can reach16HH and at the highest but it is not often seen but a Clydsdale on the other hand can reach to be 18HH

Quarter Horses normally stand around 15hh or less actually. The tallest horse was a draft horse standing at 19hh. That is the tallest a horse has reached as of yet. however, this was a draft breed- most horses you see will be between 14 and 17 hh.

Wild horses are present on the public lands of the west as a result of the release or escape of domestic horses while the west was being settled. Therefore, their history is as varied as the history of these settlers. Most wild horses average 14-14.2 hands (a hand is four inches) at the withers, which is on the small size for a horse. Some Herd Management Areas support herds that can reach 16 hands or more and resemble draft or thoroughbreds when fully grown. Nature chooses for smaller animals, as their nutritional needs are less, and smaller horses do better on the range during hard times. Through proper management the Bureau of Land Management keeps herds at an Appropriate Management Level, removing the extra horses and either making them available for public adoption or sending them to long term holding pastures in the Midwest in order to prevent overuse of the sensitive western rangelands. By maintaining the health of the range, the wild horses have the best chance of reaching their genetic potential and being successful on the range. Once adopted by the public, a wild horse is fed better forage than would have been available on the range and will likely grow larger than it would in the wild. Wild horses may also take a few more years to finish growing and "filling" out, reaching their maximum size and body weight by 4-5 years of age.

A Horse can come in all sorts of sizes. Draft Horses ar the largest with an overall average is about 700kg (1550 pounds) and 1.6 meters tall at the shoulders (16.3 hands, 5ft 4 inches). A typical stable horse will weigh 400 to 500kg (1000 pounds) depending on the species and stand 1.55 meters ( 15.2 hands, 5 foot 2 inches) at the shoulder and a pony will weigh up to 400kg (900 pounds) and stand 1.5 meters ( 15 hands, 5 foot) to the shoulder. The Smallest Horse is the Minature Horse which get to a mere 60 kg in weight and stand 85cm at the shoulder, while the largest horse is the Clydesdale Horse which stand 1.8m at the shoulder and weigh 910kg ( 2000 pounds). it all depends... ponies are usually under 14 hands 2 inches and anything above that is a horse.. by the way there are 4 inches in a hand=]..
