According to the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America breed standard, a true Jack Russell is between 10 and 15 inches high at the withers (top of the shoulder blades). However, there are a lot of JRTs or mix breeds that don't quite conform to this standard. Generally, you won't get one over 15 inches at the withers - that would be a Parson Russell, which is slightly different.

That depends: if he is a purebred, he can get any where from twelve to fifteen inches. If he is not, then, who knows.

Jack Russell Terriers are VERY hyper. So, if u have a big back yard and are able to walk/run with it several times a day then yes. they do like kids, but they also have to be properly trained like every dog, and prefer adult companionship.
about The same size as jack russell teriers
Yes, they are very great dogs. But if you hate having holes all over your yard, then I wouldn't get one. They are very smart dogs and not that strong. Its good for them to be not that strong so its easy to walk them. They are hyper and love to run. Also they tear up your house if you don't teach them not to! I have one named Penny. Shes my little Jack Russell girl!

It should not be done purposely, but if it did happen, the female Jack Russell would have to have a C-section to be able to have the pups ... they would be too big to birth naturally. It would also be dangerous for her to be pregnant with pups of a much larger dog, but if she were to get pregnant with only a few instead of several, she might be OK. The pups would be medium-sized dogs ... not as small at the JR, and not as large as the collie. Anyway, because of the danger involved to the mother and subsequent pups, purposeful breeding between these two should never be done.
