Rabbits are, out of necessity, nocturnal animals. That means that they do most of their foraging at night/twilight/dawn. This is when it is easier for them to hide from predators. However, since we have brought rabbits into our houses and kept them up during the day (when they normally snooze) they may change their sleep patterns to accommodate ours. If you doubt that a rabbit is a nocturnal animal put a coke can (empty of course) in their cage and put their cage in your room at night when you are trying to sleep. I guarantee you won't get much rest.
