Most pugs are not actually fat- they just have been bred to have a naturally stocky body shape which may make them seem chunkier then they really are. Unless their owners aren't giving them a proper amount of exercise or are feeding them too much calorie rich food the pug will stay at a healthy weight but may seem fatter than most dogs. However being a Brachycephalic dog means that they often will have trouble breathing when given exercise. Consequently many dog owners just skip exercising their dogs which may result in the common problem of obesity in Pugs.
