I have 1 black gerbil myself! I would say that black gerbils aren't as common as gray ones, but they aren't as rare as some different pied combinations or the new 'blue' color which I have never seen, even in a picture. If you go to a few pet stores or breeders like me, you're sure to find at least one black gerbil.
gerbils can come in many colors such as brown and white which are very common. although there are other colors which are a bit hard to find such as black, tan, grey, blonde and if you breed gerbils multiple colors
They do have seizures (this is common in young gerbils)
Only if it is a black gerbil.

* Color: Wild Mongolian gerbils have colors that help them blend in with their natural desert habitat. The dense fur on the back is a golden sandy color (agouti), and the fur on the belly is pale gray or off-white. Domestic gerbils, however, come in almost two dozen colors. Aside from their natural color, they can also be black, orange, white, deep or light gray, and nutmeg (a mix of brown, black, and orange). * Find more about gerbils: http://www.quamut.com/quamut/gerbils Please recommend me!
