Yes, Topthorn does die, but Joey (the main horse) doesn't. People get mixed up between Topthorn and Joey sometimes.
Topthorn
from pula
Emillie is a little girl who convinces her grandfather to help her take care of Joey and Topthorn. Confederate soldiers sort of made them do it, but she loved them. Emillie dies after Joey and Topthorn are taken away, and her grandfather goes to the auction, buys them, and gives them to Albert (Topthorn is dead by this time, too).
Topthorn -- the black horseJoey -- Albert Narracott's beloved horseJoey and Topthorn become very good friends. Topthorn and Joey were the only horses who managed to get over the barbed wire, all of the other horses were injured and died. Topthorn and Joey end up switching over from English to German when they are captured after they jumped over the barbed wire, their riders, including Trooper Warren become prisoners of war.
Topthorn, Joey's best friend, dies.
The main character horse and narrator of the story is Joey. His best friend is named Topthorn, and a horse at Joey's first home (where he was brought when he was first bought) is named Zoey, another farm horse.
His name was Topthorn
I'm assuming your talking about Joey but he doesn't die. His friend Topthorn does though.
I'm not sure but I do believe they were cannons I think if its not right I appologize deeply
There are multiple black stallion movies and Arabian or Friesian is most common.
joey and his owner Albert don't get killed. but 2 brothers and joeys horse friend die. the brothers die from getting shot as traitors in a field and Joey's friend dies from exhaustion. oh and a lot of other people die to like the first officer who rode joey and a lot of other soldiers. oh yes and joey and his owner are reunited in the end.
