How do I know if my pygmy goat is in about to have her baby?

Usually she will separate her self from the rest of the herd (we had a "surprise" birthing in the pasture and the goat hid her babies so watch them close), she will start to bite or kick at her stomach area, the vaginal opening will start to relax and her water will break.

The signs of pregnancy are the same in most mammalian species - development of the mammary gland (udder), increased feed consumption without an increase in body fat reserves, noticeable distention to the abdomen and nesting behaviors.

Most pygmy goats won't show signs of pregnancy until they are pretty far along, generally within their last trimester.

you will usually knoow if its not getting up or eating alot. usually it will make weird sounds. but be careful cause they get very sensitive if you touch or try to move them.
