Chimpanzees choose their mates based on a combination of physical characteristics, social status, and behavioral traits. Males often compete for dominance and access to females, while females may prefer mates with strong genes or those who display good parenting skills. Additionally, social bonds and alliances can influence mate selection, as females may select males who are more socially integrated within the group. Overall, the process is complex and involves both individual preferences and social dynamics.

By just choosing them.
I don't think that you will ever know if you have chose the right mate. I have been married for about 3 years and together for about 11 years, and I still don't believe that I chose the right mate. You choose a person that has qualities that you would like in a mate. You choose a mate that has the compassion and respect for you that you deserve. You choose a mate that makes your heart skip a beat. YOu choose a mate that is someone you can see yourself waking up next to every morning or better yet that wont mind waking up next to you every morning. Good luck. As far as your gift. IF you have to ask you may not have one, you would know.
