Possibly depends if she tends to ignore or not want to mate with the male because the male will make a sound like chattering his teeth so that often means separate them. In the mean leave them seperated intell after a day then see how he acts when you put her back in the same home or area they might start to sniff each other or play like chasing one another if they do its a good sign but becareful because he might try to mate with her if they get very comfortable with eachother
