make sure that there is a lot of water for the mom and food and in hot days change the water twice a day so its not to hot for the mommy. other than that the mommy will take care of cleaning the babies and feeding them but make sure u dont touch the babies when they're born because the mommy wont feed them and if happened to see a little bunny missing then the mother has probably eaten them because they were sick or already dieing. take my advise in a veterinarian
yes why not..every mother do it.
The mother platypus feeds her babies on mothers' milk for about four months. The young then continue to stay with her for between 18 months and two years.
give it lots of food and love it
They can. Sometimes if they don't want to care for them or if the mother senses there is something wrong with one of them.
Let the mother rabbit take care of everything. She knows what to do.
Probably the best thing to do is arrange for the mother's comfort by providing shelter , bedding , food and water ; she will naturally care for her young - below are several links to additional information regarding the care for a rabbit .
If a mother rabbit is rejecting her babies, you should try to keep the babies warm and fed. You can also consult a veterinarian or a wildlife rehabilitator for advice on how to care for the babies properly.
It depends on how many there are in the litter. Like if there are three she will probably keep it, but if there are six she might abandon it. Remember every mother is different. My Rabbit killed hers, she had 3 in her litter, and she dragged him out side of the nest! Still if your mother rabbit is feeding the rabbit, then it is not a runt!
no it woundn't.. rabbits don't care if others die.. a mother rabbit would eat one of her babys if it died..so it woudn't rot away in front of her other babys
A sight that a mother Dwarft rabbit is abandoning one of her babies is that if you hold the baby, the mother doesnt like it and will not take care of it anymore.
nope that rumor is totally false. she probably wont even notice but sometimes if the baby is new born and a human touches it, the smell rubs off and the mother rabbit kills it thinking its not hers. when the mother rabbit gets used to her baby and officially knows it's her's, she doesn't care.
