How do you catch a fox in the backyard?

You do not need to kill foxes, but if you are disturbed by foxes making noise in your garden, or you don't like them digging and scatting in your garden, call a humane fox controller who can put a cage out in your garden, and the fox will go into it, and then he can take it away and release it somewhere else.

If the fox is coming around the house, it's probably pretty tame, or at least used to people. Try a trap (like the Havahart brand) and use pieces of chicken, eggs, meat scraps or even marshmallows. I use marshmallows to trap raccoons and have caught (and released) three foxes recently. Unless you have chickens or the foxes are causing other problems, I wouldn't worry about them as they're pretty good at keeping the rodent population in check. Good luck.

To get a PET fox, you can check your state and city ordinances to make sure they're legal. Next, you'd need to do extensive research on owning them, as they are a lot of work and really don't ake the best pets for everyone :) To finally buy a pet fox, you'd need to find a breeder (I, myself, am one) and purchase a fox! If you buy a red-type or Arctic fox for anything over $550, you're probably being ripped off.
