How do you catch a possum?

I catch mine with a have a hart trap. You can find have a harts at any well stocked feed and grain supply store.

If your thinking of eating them, I recommend a .22 to the head, and remember to remove the glands under the arms and trim as much fat as possible, and NEVER EAT ONE from a CITY. Country only as the city ones can get into garbage and it really reflects in the meat and can be quite nasty.

Since rabbits are wild it is best to leave it alone, if you just want to pet it and then put it back in the wild I would tell you how. I caught 4 rabbits in one day. But since I don't trust you to catch a rabbit without hurting it I am not going to tell you.

You can chase a possum away by if you have a dog you can get it to listen well enough or trained enough it will sniff out and kill it but if your not a person who would normaly kill animals you can get a live trap and set various types of food in it like cat food or just leftovers from dinner.

There are people trained in possum control who can legally and humanely remove possums from your yard or your house. Possums, which are quite unrelated to the opossum of North America, are protected native animals in Australia, and should not be hunted or killed. Domestic dogs, especially, should be kept away.

In New Zealand, where the possum has become a major pest, they may be removed, but it is best to call an expert who can ensure the possum, which is a highly territorial animal, does not return.
