You can have a flake of hay for them to eat, which means having a manger or feed trough inside the stall for the horse to eat from. The manger should be put along the wall of the box close to the stable door so that it doesn't interfere wit the horse's area where it rests. It should also be located in an area where it's easy for you to access, so you don't have to walk all the way in to the box stall to feed the horse. Hay nets also work, so that one horse on each side can eat from it. All you need to do is just hang it up high enough so that the horses can reach from their box and eat from it. Grass hay is the best to feed, so long as it has high nutrition in terms of energy and protein. Make sure you get the hay tested for nutrient quality before feeding it to your horses.

Horses' health naturally declines after the age of 25 on Howrse. However, to speed it up, you could do a number of things: -do not put your horse to sleep -age your horse with minimum energy, ideally less than 5% -do not feed your horse -do not groom your horse -do not put your horse in the box or meadow Doing all these things, your horse's health would go down pretty fast. Hope that helped!
