A professional pet shop can tell you how to build a trap that will not hurt it if you are sure its hiding somewhere in your house but cant seem to find it. In the mean time, leave out food and water dishes that it can get to at night so it wont starve. A tip is to leave exactly the same amout of food at each location, like 6 pieces of dry food so you can easily tell if its eating (still alive) and sprinkle a little flour around so you can see its footprints. If you have to, you can hire a security dog service to have a dog 'sniff out' where your guinea pig is hiding - the dogs are trained not to hurt the animals they track down.
