Then, you have to promise to take care of it. Tell your parents that you will keep the manure shoveled up and you'll feed & water it - and they won't have to do anything. Having a horse of any size requires a lot of work. You have to make your parents believe that you will be responsible for it.
If you have other responsibilties (i.e. other pets, instruments, cleaning your room) it is always good to show that you can do all of what you have to do now, and still have plenty of time for caring for a pony
