Well it's depending on the breed and personality of the cat. Some breeds are more friendly then others. The only true way to know that a cat is friendly is by spending time with it. Start taking notes on it's behaviour around others or yourself to see how it acts. Even shy or nervous cats can become used to you over time, and become more friendly towards a familiar face.
by NOT trying to tear your face off.
This depends on the cat. If a house cat is raised well, it is likely to be very friendly.
The color of a cat doesn't make any difference on its personality, though there are lots of stereotypes. The only way to gaurentee that you are getting a friendly cat is to get an adult cat that you already know to be friendly. If you are getting a kitten make sure it meets lots of different friendly people while it is young to prevent it from being afraid of people later in life. I've met torti-tabbies that are friendly, and some that are mean. Color and hair length doesn't make a difference, its just based on the individual cat's personality and experiences.
It means that the cat is friendly. There is no hidden meaning or higher significance to it. It's a cat, not an oracle.
They are friendly because they are born to like humans...really..
Yes, the Burmese cat breed is closely related to the Siamese cat breed.

They are a beautiful breed :) Whether they are cat friendly really depends on the dog and how its treated. And what experiences they've had with cats. If a dog has been attacked by a cat then mabye they think that cats arent so friendly therefore they might have a grudge against cats. But if the interaction between the dog and the cat is good and no cat scratching then the dog might become cat friendly. Its early puppy stages are important and socializing with cats within the first 6 months is essencial if the dog is living in a cat zone :)
i love you (really not the cat me!)
