You cannot milk a kangaroo.

There seems to be a myth currently doing the rounds on the internet about milking kangaroos. Until another contributor is able to provide proof that milking kangaroos is done, the answer remains: you cannot milk a kangaroo.

Having said that, however, recent research has discovered that the milk of Tammar wallabies could be beneficial in helping premature babies develop the necessary immune system to prevent gut problems developing. The milk of Tammar wallabies contains proteins that assist with this very common problem in premature babies, who tend to have an underdeveloped gut which prevents them from properly absorbing important nutrients from breastmilk or formula. However, these same scientists are not advocating feeding premature babies wallaby milk - they are using it as a way to identify needed proteins.
