Why would you put a B20B in to a CRX, that's the engine out of a CRV, and yes, it will be a pain in the ass. Why not do one of the common swaps such as a B16 or a B18. If you can get your hands on a JDM B18 Type-R, that should be more than sufficient and a lot easier to pull off.
no it is nard hard considering its a B seiries but you will ned a p28 ECU , aftermarket B series to 88-91 hasport crx mounts, a standard tranny and a complete B20B swap not a longblock or shortblock. - *PHaZE II* -

84 CRX ??? help me here CRX went 88 to 91/92 then came Del Sol CRX???
88-91 Crx parts will not fit on a 86 crx. The 86 Crx has wider lights.
many parts are interchangable but some dont like for example 90 crx tailights will not fit on a 88 cause the 88 crx has bigger tailights while 90 has thinner. another example is the seat ralings are different but u can use the 90 seats if u swap the railing for 88 etc.
88-89 hf crx uses 190cc 90-91 hf crx uses 240cc
Yes, I have a 86 crx si and the one I have is from a 88-91 civic/crx. any ? contact me at sconesnbones@comcast.net for any info...

Dextron-Mercon
With some modifications, yes.
Yes, the headlights from an 88 Honda CRX can fit an 87 Honda CRX, as both models share similar design characteristics and dimensions. However, it's important to check for any specific differences in wiring or mounting clips that may exist between the two model years. Overall, using parts from these closely related models is generally feasible.
