by buying a chain that you fold in half an loop round the dogs neck an when they pull it will choke them but there soon no what happens if they pull and they will soon stop
The answer above is a very unnecessary and outdated training method. If you would like to teach your dog how to walk to heel, this is simple and easy to do, if your dog pulls forward just stop, the dog will get bored and come back to you or make the lead loose ( if this doesn't happen after a few minutes then walk in the opposite direction for a few paces, do not pull the dog as this will un-train the learnt behaviour of not pulling) , at that point reward the dog either with verbal praise or a treat, if you repeat this several times the dog learns that by your side is a more rewarding place to be than pulling infront, because all the dog wants to do is to walk forward so by only letting it go forward when its by your side is a reward in itself. Please treat your dog with respect and kindness, this method is far more enjoyable for you and your dog than a choke chain.
