Honestly i don't understand why anyone would want the answer to this question. These dogs are in a fight for their very exsistence and people are asking questions as if to hurry the process of their extinction. Pitbulls are wonderful dogs and the most loving, caring, and loyal companions you'll ever have. Please, do not teach your dog to bite because you are succeeding at nothing but giving people a reason to hate this breed. PUNISH THE DEED, NOT THE BREED!!!! You train them by having them bite your hand and then telling them that that's a good thing. Why would you want to train them to bite? Don't they get enough of a bad rap as it is?
well as a girl who got bit by a pit 1 year ago in the face nose OPEN and my top lip all the skin was torn to the muscle NOW this was a family (kinda) dog and he is still alive and I am still healing from the bites and the following plastic surgury that i was given novacaine for SOOOOOO We gave the dog a second chance and exactly lastnight he unprovoked ripped my hand open with his teeth im having extreme pain cant do make up hair and he also bit me in my leg the same night now all im trying to do is get to the hospital SO BASICALLY KILL THE MOTHER F'IN DOG IF HE ATTACKS YOU DONT BE STUPID DO YOUR RESEARCH THEY ARE BREED TO HURT 1. to clarify, pitt bulls were NOT bred to hurt people. 2. the important question to ask is WHY the dog bit you. If it bit you because you were abusing/hutring/being mean to it then the reason you got bitten was your fault, don't blame the dog. If you weren't doing anything bad, first make sure the owner hasn't been abusing the dog, if not then you could give it one more chance... P.S. if you are in extreme pain, why are you caring about make up and hair and if you are trying to get to the hospital for extreme injuries, then why are you spending your time typing on the computer answering questions? (oh and if your hand is soo hurt that you can't fix your hair or make up, why are you typing??)
Before the mid-80s, stories of pit bull attacks are practically non-existent. There is even some confusion over exactly which breed of dog is a pit bull - the definition includes the American pit bull terrier, the Staffordshire terrier and, at times, the bulldog. This confusion seems to have dogged the breed from the beginning, as there is some disagreement over the origin of pit bulls.
Any dog can bite, but to be more certain that your furry friend is less inclined to do so, never physically discipline him, and socialize him as often and as much as possible.
A hyena's bite measures at 1000 pounds of force. A pit bull's bite measures at 235 pounds of force.
pit bull terrier

pit bulls bite with 225 lbs of force, they are also lock jaws meaning once they bite you, they are virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get off. It will take many blows to the head before the pit bull will release.
Pitbulls have a stronger bite then a bull terrier. Pitbulls were breed for that kinda stuff while Bull Terriers were breed for hunting.
