very tenderly and carefullly! until it becomes weaning time, they treat their babies the same way we treat our babies. with lots of TLC!!! When weaning time does come, mothers may kick their babies away if they try to feed, mostly because if they are at a breeding farm, as soon as the mare is ready they will breed her again.
